Declaration of Principles
Members of The Ohio Vehicle Leasing Association base their principles in law and dedicate themselves to conduct their businesses in a professional manner, with truth, accuracy, fairness, and responsibility to the public, which they serve.
To this end, Members of The Ohio Vehicle Leasing Association agree to adhere to the Articles of the Code of Ethics and Professional Standards for the vehicle leasing industry as adopted by the Association.
Articles of the Code
These articles were adopted by The Ohio Vehicles Leasing Association to promote and maintain high standards or service and ethical conduct among its members.
1. A member shall deal fairly with customers, past and present, with fellow lessors, with vendors, and with the general public.
2. A member shall conduct her or his professional life in accord with the public interest.
3. A member shall adhere to truth and accuracy and to generally accepted business and industry standards.
4. A member shall not place herself or himself in a position where the member's interest is or may be in conflict with a duty to a customer, or others, without a full disclosure.
5. A member shall safeguard the confidences of both present and former customers and vendors.
6. A member shall not engage in any practice, which tends to corrupt the integrity or the process of government.
7. A member shall comply with all laws and shall endeavor to keep herself or himself informed of those laws.
8. A member shall not intentionally injure the professional reputation or business of another lessor or vendor. However, if a member has evidence that another lessor has been guilty of unethical, illegal, or unfair practices, including violations of this Code, the member shall present the information promptly to the proper authorities of The Association for action in accordance with the Bylaws and laws of the State of Ohio and United States of America.
